Just one more very quick update

I'm finally getting my voice back after this past illness decided that I really, REALLY needed to sound like a rasping frog for the past three weeks.

I'm contacting the two interviewees from the pre-virus period and should have a new podcast for you all VERY VERY SOON. (Within a week or so.)

Thank you so much for hanging around while I've been sitting around all pneumonia-ed.

Also, THANK YOU to Chuck and Beth from No Soap Radio for the mention on this week's No Soap podcast! As a matter of fact, I *am* pretty lovely, and I'd like to think I'm talented in there somewhere, too, though that's probably remaining to be seen. :) Thank you for the mention!

And thank YOU all for listening. There won't be a break like this again, barring any unforseen virus infections.

slight delay, most likely

Well, we got the mic over here at SideshowWorld to work with the telephone for phone interviews, after much futzing and gnashing of teeth....

...and I promptly lost my voice. Winter colds are making their way around this area, and one of them landed squarely in my lap.

As soon as I no longer sound like someone has been forcing me at gunpoint to gargle with a sandblaster (which might be a sideshow act in and of itself), I've got a BIG BIG BIG interview planned for you. (One we didn't mention on the last podcast, by the way...) It's a name you'll know, and an interview that you won't want to miss!

I'm guesstimating it'll be done in a few days, provided the magic throat healing takes place by then.

Thank you for listening! You all have managed to vastly exceed my expectations of the first issue, and we love each and every one of you who downloaded and listened. :)

Episode 01: A Night of Mayhem

Woot! The first episode of The SideShow is ready for downloading!

In this episode, we talk a little about what a sideshow is, explain who we are and why we're here, and have a full-length interview with the sword-swallowing, fire-breathing, pointy-things-in-his-nose, straight-jacket-escaping king of all things sideshow...the famed performer, Johnny Mayhem.

Johnny Mayhem, being skewered by a 17" bayonet-style sword....on purpose.

Links we mentioned:

If I'm forgetting any, leave me a comment and I'll see what I can do about adding them in. (I've been trying to upload this for AGES now and just finally got it! This podcasting thing has a learning curve, I see.)

LISTEN TO EPISODE 1: A NIGHT OF MAYHEM
(right-click and save target as: if you want it on your own hard drive)

We'll also be on iTunes in a bit! Stay tuned!

almost there

I'm uploading now, and need to figure out both RSS feeds and how to compress this a little better. (It's a big'un.)

Expect an announcement of a new episode by the end of today!

slight delay

Well, you live, you learn.

Apparently, there's a particular way to save Audacity files, and the way I saved our feature interview this week? That, evidently, was NOT the way to do it.

We're re-recording tonight, so it MAY be up tomorrow, but more likely on Saturday or so.

Thanks for your patience while this evolves!

hard at work

We here at the Side Show Podcast are hard at work on the first podcast for and about the american sideshow.

Things on tap for the first episode: Who we are, why we're doing this, and a feature-length interview with Johnny Mayhem about his carnival sideshow self.

Stop back soon for the first episode! We're estimating that Thursday, January 12th will be our Go Live Date.
